Choice!
There are a bunch of great portable games heading our way. Now the only problem left is to decide which to buy. I’ll probably end up with all of them at some point, but have no idea what to get first. So help me out here ;)
There’s Tetris DS, which should be available this week. It’s 10 player VS-mode with only one cartridge interests me a lot. Problem is, everyone I know with a DS lives at least 40 min away.
Me & My Katamari will be released in 3 weeks, so there’s no need importing that. Question is, will it be worth the money, after I already own both PS2 versions.
Brain Age is a must have, but still 1 month away. Importing would be an option, but I don’t know how much it will differ from the European version. Also, importing tends to be more expensive and I guess I can wait a month no?
One game I might import though, is Metal Gear Ac!d 2. I skipped the first (and every other Metal Gear game), but since I’m very interested in the Metal Gear world however (storyline, characters etc). With MGA2 being card/turn-based, which is more my style than real-time stealth, I really want to give this one a try. Its release date is end June and I’m not that patient ^^.

I vote for Tetris DS because it’s got Mario and Link in it ;)

eej Sicu! Just bought me a HDTV today (I surprised even myself!) -> a LTV32H from VideoSeven. 32 inch screen… it’s ginormous! But now I’m wondering how I can max out the graphics from my PS2/xbox/gamecube. What cables/settings should I use and what will it cost me. And where can I find HD hentai porn? (ignore that last one please ;))

get component cables (see liksang), to get your ps2 etc on 480i or sometimes even 480p (usually not available in european versions though). although 512i is the pal output i think.
if u have a cube with a digital output, next to the analog, u’r lucky. (and a nintendo fanboy coz only the first cubes have it). if not, u’ll be stuck with ugly composite (i compared the two and it’s like an amazing difference, as if suddenly u can see! lol)
they aren’t that expensive, but worth the money nonetheless. without these cables ur old consoles will make u cry.
replay all those 360 games. u’ll finally see what next-gen really means. coz u’ve seen nothing yet ;)
no idea bout the HD pron, but lemme know if u find out more (can’t wait for HDDVD players ^^)

whoopee! I’m a Nintendo fanboy, coz I got a cube with digital output! :)
And buying component cables for my PS2… my tv only has one component input (for my 360), so i will have to look for som type of hub-thingy (or whatever you call it). And let’s just hope the PS3 comes with a simple DVI-output too, because I don’t have HDMI…

btw (sorry for messing up the comments section of your wonderfully wonderful weblog!!! ;)) that digital output for the cube, is that for a S-video output? or is it something else..

never mind. I found the component cables, but they’re no longer made and nowhere to be found (not lik-sang, not play-asia, not nothing… all out of stock)
please continue blogging… ;)

weird. i bought them at liksang a couple of months ago. and yes, i got this hub thingy too, to which i connect my cube/ps2/360. if only there’d exist something alike for optical audio cables. i have to move it from the ps2 to the 360 all the time :/
the more comments the better rite? i’m expert in screwing up ur comment section :P

I don’t mind about those comments. makes other people want to comment too you know ;)
I read that Nintendo stopped making those cables because they don’t make Gamecubes with digital outputs anymore. problem is that it’s not a standard output (i think), so you can’t buy third party cables like for PS2 and Xbox (correct me if I’m wrong, I’m still a HDTV n00b). Anyway, I’ll check some stores next week for those cables.
There should be a hub (or ’switch’ or whatever) that does everything at once (audio and video). I cannot reach easily behind my tv, so I don’t feel like changing cables all the time…
