Okay, I enter this Apple dealer, just for some information and the guy asks me if I want to order it… And I actually manage to say no thanks. So far so good. I walk out of the store, continue our little shopping but the question of the vendor is contineously repeating itself in my head. I’m trying to think of reasons not to get an iPod Shuffle and there are plenty. I already own a 3G 40Gb iPod and I only use it in the car, at work and once a month when I actually go places on foot. I never take public transportation and when I’m going somewhere Elke is always with me so I can’t go putting headphones on and ignore here right? ;) I’m never in a situation where I can really use mobile devices (my Gameboy Advance SP feels already lonely and I know I shouldn’t get a PSP nor a Gameboy DS, although… damn it).

So if I never get of my lazy ass and only use my iPod in the cases above, why would I get a Shuffle? … Well what about sports… I’ve been telling myself I’d do some sort of sport this year since the only running I do is to get a coffee on the 5th floor at work, for which I, yes, use the stairs (I’m on the 6th :D) So I was thinking of starting some jogging. The iPod I have is great for walking and sitting, but running? I don’t think so. But, am I taking up jogging to get an iPod Shuffle or am I buying an iPod Shuffle to take up jogging… ? Oh well…

What about the USB stick storage capability? I have this crappy Dell USB stick from work, which can contain the ridiculous amount of 64Mb of data. I never use it because nothing fits on it. But the iPod Shuffle can contain 512Mb to 1Gb! And it looks sexy!

So anyway, one hour later we pass the same shop again, and I’ve somehow managed to tell myself the pros win against the cons, I walk into the store and order the bloody thing. So half a month from now, I’ll be an iPod richer, but a poor man.. again.

Well, at least I haven’t ordered a Mac mini yet ;)
